Overview
Compass Group is providing the food service for the catering in the San Joaquin Valley area at Chevron locations. Our goal is to provide friendly and effective food service to whatever your meeting or event needs are. The Catering Manager will facilitate the planning and execution of your event to help it be a success!
Ordering
The primary and preferred method of placing orders is using the website:
www.compasscatering.com/ChevronBakersfield-SJV
You will need to create an account and have a valid payment method (charge code) to place an order. We accept credit cards but customer will need to call in with the information. We do not keep credit cards on file.
Lead Time
Please place requests at least 48 hours in advance. Large requests or complex custom requests can better be accommodated with at least 72 hours lead time.
Events may inadvertently be delivered late due to commute to outlying areas and possible traffic delays during event time. Please allow leeway when selecting delivery times
Last Minute Requests
For orders placed within 14 hours of the event or changes to an existing order, you must call the catering department directly, then confirm via email: 661-391-4314 followed by emailing request to: daniel.harris2@compass-usa.com
Last minute orders will be accepted; however, menu selection and requested delivery time is contingent upon existing cafeteria and catering activity. A special handling charge will apply to:
Requests received after 3:00 p.m. prior to delivery day
Same day request, or additions to an order after delivery
Service & Labor Charges
Regular service hours are from 7am to 2pm for SJV Café Catering. For service outside this time frame, a labor charge of $25/hr/person will added to the bill to cover the additional cost. To verify if the Café is able to accommodate the request, please contact Catering Manager 661-391-4314
Food Safety
Per Corporate Chevron Policy and Health Code, foods that require temperature control (most cooked foods, meats, dairy, etc.) must be discarded at 2 hours after leaving temperature control. For safety reasons, left-overs of these foods (even if they have been out for less than 2 hours) should be discarded, and not put into a refrigerator or kept elsewhere.
Servers and Linens
If wait staff, servers, or bartenders are needed, special labor charges as needed will be added to the bill: Typically this is $40/hr/server; 4 hours minimum billed.
“The above Unknown keyword: service charge/staffing charge/administrative fee, etc. is an administrative charge for administration of the function, is not purported to be a tip or gratuity and will not be distributed as a tip or gratuity to the employees who provided service to the guests.”
If linens are requested, an additional per linen charge plus delivery will be added to the bill (1 table = 1 linen).
Vendor charges and delivery charges
We utilize a local business to help with the food production. Here is a list of the charges and minimum order size they incur for their services:
Sequoia Sandwich Company
$100 minimum for Camino Media and a 10% service fee. Hot food is not available for catering.
SJV Café
$50 minimum order for delivery to Kern River, Camino Media. $100 minimum to Lost Hills, McKittrick, and Midway-Sunset. No delivery fee for Kern River, Camino Media and $25 for Lost Hills, McKittrick, and $35 Midway-Sunset.
